This weekend the Azelhof welcomes the international CSI2*-riders for its first international indoor competition of the season. Not only top sport is on the agenda, but there’s also a lot “In & Around” to discover at one of Belgium’s biggest equestrian centers.
When in need of a comfortable sleeping place, the Azelhof is very well located nearby Lier city center. Closest is the Zimmerhotel***. This hotel offers luxury rooms with an all-in formula. The Zimmerhotel has its own gym and is only a 6 minutes drive from the Azelhof. This is a must book hotel!
Extra advantage is the private parking in front of the hotel. If you tend to stay a little bit longer at the party, there is a FREE shuttle from the Azelhof to the Zimmerhotel.
Located a little bit further in the heart of Lier is the Hof van Aragon. This hotel offers some luxury rooms in an authentic, historic setting. Unfortunate the parking possibilities are limited.
There is no better place to eat as in the Restaurant Azelhof itself. A cosy setting inside the Equestrian center offers a nice and tasteful winter menu with adjusted wine. The same kitchen caters the CSI2* VIP tables as well.
If you just prefer a good piece of meat, you might just head for the Steak House ‘t Hoeveke. Located nearby the Zimmerhotel*** this steakhouse offers the perfect menu for the meat lover. Prices are between 20 and 50 euro. The steakhouse is open until midnight.
On Saturday the Azelhof transforms in a nightlife scene for its own ridersparty. A cosy and friendly party night at the paddock bar with some of the best Belgian Equestrian Party DJ’s. The other nights the Azelhof bar and the two pool tables in the restaurant might be all you need to spend the time.
If you prefer a party night outside the center, the city center of Lier has it all …
Sometimes you just want to be a tourist. Lier is one of the oldest city centers in Belgium. Located between Brussels and Antwerp you’re just a drive away of the European Capital center or Fashion city of the north. In Lier itself the Zimmertower and historic center offers a nice scenery for a cosy (shopping) afternoon.
If you perfer more action, Lier has its own swimming pool, nature reserve, and much more. Or you can go visit one of the many cartings, wall climbing, sport facilities nearby in Antwerp or Brussels.
